Here we are!

So I started a blog for Quin. This way anyone who wants to know can check up on his activities, his developmental milestones, how many onesies he's peed through today (3), all that good stuff. Maybe it'll help me curb the baby talk when I get other adults to talk to. I realize that my friends without kids don't really need to know what color Quin's poop is. Even the ones with kids probably aren't interested, though I could be wrong.

Anyhow, the big news this week is that he started on cereal. I figured solid food would be a slam dunk for my kid considering how I feel about eating. No sooner had I gotten a small spoonful in his mouth than he spit it back at me and gave me a "what the hell are you trying to pull now?" look. A few days later we tried the kind with bananas in it and he seemed more partial to that. Now he tolerates it with minimal spitting. He likes cereal better than a bottle anyway, which is something.

Speaking of which, I called the nurse in desperation the other day. I have a party to go to and I really wanted to be able to leave Quin with my mom for more than 20 minutes, so I called for some advice. I was really hoping she'd tell me he could survive on cereal for a couple of hours but alas, no he cannot. The nurse told me to be persitent and keep trying different bottles and eventually he'd give in. That made me chuckle...Quin's more stubborn than even I am! I've come to the conclusion that he'll be nursing until he's at least 20. Poor kid screams like he's being tortured every time I try to give him a bottle and I'm pretty sure he's secretly learning how to call in a complaint to DSS. I'm thinking we'll just skip bottles and go right to sippy cups...or shot glasses or frappucinos or whatever it takes to get him to realize that my breasts are not the be all end all of nourishment.

Now we are off for a fun filled trip to the mall...Quin likes shopping about as much as his father does and screams just as loudly when I take him to Bath and Body. I can't wait until he's old enough to bribe!
